Cakeism Facts
Teresa Nugent and Melissa Eads began their cake adventure in the summer of 2006. After much prompting from her friends, Teresa decided that she wanted to start a cake business. It was obvious that she needed help, so she chose the person that would complement her in the best way…the yin to her yang. Melissa was without question the person for the job. Together they created Cakeism and have since been going non-stop creating their amazing edible works of art.
Teresa has been creating cakes for over 10 years, but until last year, it was a side venture, mostly as gifts for friends...cakes make great wedding presents! Teresa's specialty is masterminding sculpted cakes and stacking wedding cakes. She has a degree in engineering, and although she never thought it would lead to making cakes, it sure does help in the construction of them.
Melissa began baking cakes long before she and Teresa met…and they’ve known each other for over 7 years. She has a degree in chemistry and her beaker science has spilled over into cake baking. Melissa has spent an enormous amount of time perfecting each recipe as she truly believes that a cake should taste as outstanding as it looks. She is incredibly detail oriented and a perfectionist in her decorating skills to the benefit of any bride looking for that perfect wedding cake.
Melissa and Teresa work with each client to create a unique and delicious work of art. An enormous amount of thought, time, and pride goes into each and every one of their cakes. A Cakeism creation is truly one-of-a-kind and a conversation piece of any event.
